ARTICLES

ইংরেজিতে Articles হলো A, An, এবং The, যা কোনও noun (বিশেষ্য) নির্দিষ্ট বা অনির্দিষ্ট করে।

Articles-এর প্রকারভেদ:

1. Indefinite Articles (অনির্দিষ্ট নিবন্ধ): A, An    2. Definite Article (নির্দিষ্ট নিবন্ধ): The

1. Indefinite Articles: "A" এবং "An"

✅ "এগুলি তখন ব্যবহার করা হয় যখন কোনো জিনিস অনির্দিষ্ট বা সাধারণভাবে বোঝানো হয়।

✅ "A এবং An কেবলমাত্র একবচন (singular) গণনাযোগ্য বিশেষ্যের (countable noun) আগে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

"A" ব্যবহারের নিয়ম

✅ "A ব্যবহার করা হয় যখন শব্দটি ব্যঞ্জনধ্বনির (consonant sound) সাথে শুরু হয়।

উদাহরণ: I saw a dog on the street. (আমি রাস্তায় একটা কুকুর দেখলাম।) He bought a car. (সে একটা গাড়ি কিনেছে।) She is a teacher. (সে একজন শিক্ষক।)

✅ "A" ব্যবহার করা হয় যখন 'u' উচ্চারণ ‘ইউ’ এর মতো এবং 'o' উচ্চারণ ‘ওয়া’ মতো হয়।

উদাহরণ: A university (উচ্চারণ: "you-niversity"), A one-eyed man (উচ্চারণ: "won-eyed")

"An" ব্যবহারের নিয়ম

✅ "An ব্যবহার করা হয় যখন শব্দটি স্বরধ্বনির (vowel sound - a, e, i, o, u) সাথে শুরু হয়।

উদাহরণ: She ate an apple. (সে একটা আপেল খেল।) I saw an elephant at the zoo. (আমি চিড়িয়াখানায় একটা হাতি দেখেছি।)

✅ "An" ব্যবহার করা হয় যখন শব্দটি "h" দিয়ে শুরু হলেও "h" উচ্চারিত হয় না।

উদাহরণ: An hour (Silent ‘h’, "hour" উচ্চারিত হয় "our" হিসেবে), An heir (উচ্চারিত হয় "air") He is an honest man. (সে একজন সৎ মানুষ।)

✅ "An" ব্যবহার করা হয় যখন "M, F, H" ইত্যাদির sound স্বরধ্বনির মতো হয়।

An M.P. (উচ্চারণ: "Em-Pee"), An FBI agent (উচ্চারণ: "Ef-Bee-Eye")

2. Definite Article: "The"

✅ ""The" ব্যবহার করা হয় যখন কোনও নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা স্থান বোঝানো হয়।

"The" ব্যবহারের নিয়ম

✅ "1. যখন পূর্বে উল্লেখিত কোনও কিছু বোঝানো হয়

I saw a dog yesterday. The dog was barking loudly.

(আমি গতকাল একটা কুকুর দেখলাম। সেই কুকুরটি জোরে ঘেউ ঘেউ করছিল।)

✅ "2. যখন কোন জিনিস অনন্য (unique) হয়

The sun, the moon, the earth (সূর্য, চাঁদ, পৃথিবী)

The Prime Minister of India (ভারতের প্রধানমন্ত্রী)

✅ "3. যখন superlative (তুলনামূলক সর্বোচ্চ) ব্যবহার হয়

He is the tallest student in the class. (সে ক্লাসের সবচেয়ে লম্বা ছাত্র।)

This is the best book I have read. (এটি আমার পড়া সবচেয়ে ভালো বই।)

✅ "4. নির্দিষ্ট নদী, মহাসাগর, পর্বতশ্রেণী, দেশ ইত্যাদির নামের আগে

The Ganges, the Pacific Ocean (গঙ্গা নদী, প্রশান্ত মহাসাগর) The Himalayas (হিমালয় পর্বতমালা) The United States (যুক্তরাষ্ট্র)

✅ "5. বাদ্যযন্ত্রের আগে

He plays the piano. (সে পিয়ানো বাজায়।) She is learning the guitar. (সে গিটার বাজানো শিখছে।)

✅ "6. বিখ্যাত ভবন, স্মৃতিস্তম্ভের আগে

The Taj Mahal (তাজমহল) The Eiffel Tower (আইফেল টাওয়ার)

✅ "7. পত্রিকা, সংস্থা ও ঐতিহাসিক ঘটনাবলির আগে

The Times of India (টাইমস অফ ইন্ডিয়া) The United Nations (জাতিসংঘ) The French Revolution (ফরাসি বিপ্লব)

✅ " 8. বিশেষণ দিয়ে সমগ্র গোষ্ঠী বোঝাতে

The rich should help the poor. (ধনীরা দরিদ্রদের সাহায্য করা উচিত।) The elderly need care. (বৃদ্ধদের যত্নের প্রয়োজন।)

NO ARTICLES( যেখানে Articles ব্যবহার হয় না)

✅ বহুবচন বা অসংখ্যবিশেষ্যের (uncountable noun) আগে

I love music. (আমি সংগীত ভালোবাসি।) Dogs are loyal animals. (কুকুর বিশ্বস্ত প্রাণী।)

✅ দেশ, শহর, রাস্তা, হ্রদের নামের আগে

He lives in India. (সে ভারতে থাকে।) I visited Lake Victoria. (আমি ভিক্টোরিয়া হ্রদ পরিদর্শন করেছি।) ব্যতিক্রম: The USA, The Netherlands

✅ ভাষার আগে

He speaks Spanish. (সে স্প্যানিশ বলতে পারে।)

✅ একাডেমিক বিষয়ের আগে

He studied Mathematics. (সে গণিত পড়েছে।)

✅ Meals বা খাবারের আগে (যদি নির্দিষ্ট না হয়)

We had lunch. (আমরা দুপুরের খাবার খেয়েছি।)

✅ ব্যতিক্রম: The dinner we had last night was delicious. (গত রাতের ঐ রাতের খাবারটি সুস্বাদু ছিল।)
